The writer of this book, Larry Haun, is a legend for his carpentry skills and involvement with Habitat for Humanity. He died a few years ago, but he lives on through his books and videos. This book is full of practical tips for learning efficient, safe, rough carpentry.
Reading this as a refresher course. Very well done book. Hard cover made with quality paper and clear color photos. Larry Haun's easy style makes this a pleasure to read.
Everything for novice or pro seems to be in this book, and it is replete with good photography and appropriate explanations.
About half of this books deals with tools.... and the the other half how to stuff... all the information seems to be spot on....

This book is the best I've ever seen as a teaching tool on this subject. It assumes no prior knowledge, everything is very clearly written, and the illustrations make it simple to understand. (In fact, if you scanned through the book and only studied the pictures and read their captions, you would learn a great deal without reading the book's text.)If you choose to buy this book, it's money well spent.
